DESCRIPTION:County to host three public meetings on local option sales tax\n\n			 \n\n			The Santa Rosa County Commission will host three public meetings in the month of April to get feedback on infrastructure needs and proposed projects to be funded by the local option sales tax. \n\n			 \n\n			Monday - April 3\, 5 - 8 p.m.\n\n			Chumuckla Community Center\n\n			2355 Highway 182 in Jay \n\n			 \n\n			Tuesday - April 11\, 5 - 8 p.m.\n\n			Tiger Point Community Center\n\n			1370 Tiger Park Lane in Gulf Breeze \n\n			 \n\n			Tuesday - April 18\, 5 - 8 p.m.\n\n			Santa Rosa Administrative Center\n\n			6495 Caroline Street in Milton  \n\n			 \n\n			The first hour of each meeting will begin with an open house format. Citizens are encouraged to review resource materials related to the current needs list and provide written comments. Staff will be available to answer any questions. The board will convene at 6 p.m. to provide time for further public discussion and comment. \n\n			 \n\n			"This surtax will provide an additional funding stream for the infrastructure needs of our growing county\," said County Administrator Tony Gomillion. "Identifying diverse funding sources helps reduce reliance on property taxes."\n\n			 \n\n			The half-cent local option sales tax was passed by voters on August 30\, 2016 and went into effect January 1. Over the next five years\, the half-cent sales tax will provide funding for projects such as:\n			\n				law enforcement\, fire and public safety facilities and equipment\n				transportation and drainage improvements\n				infrastructure projects and public facilities\n				recreation/natural resources\n				capital equipment\n			\n			Public participation is sought without regard to race\, color\, sex\, age\, religion\, national origin\, disability or family status.
