2013 Pensacola International Airport Runway Run 5k

Description

Pensacola International Airport and the City of Pensacola will welcome thousands of runners and walkers to runway 17/35 to give residents and visitors a view of the airport they have never seen before. The course will consist of 2 separate loops up and down runway 17/35 and taxiway A as runners make their way around 3.1 miles of airport ground. Greg Donovan, Airport Director, says, "We are thrilled to put on this event and to help support the USO. We plan to make this a yearly event at the airport and hope to see it grow into a staple 5k in the area."  Mayor Ashton Hayward is equally excited to bring this unique 5k to Pensacola, "I think this is an awesome event for not only the airport, but for Pensacola in general! I am so excited to have such a unique concept in our area."  This is sure to be a great experience for all participants.
