Pensacola Opera Presents ''The Billy Goats Gruff'' at Community Maritime Park

On Saturday, April 20, 2013 at 10 a.m., Pensacola Opera will present a free performance of its educational, touring opera for children and families, The Billy Goats Gruff at the Community Maritime Park Amphitheatre. This performance is open to the public and no reservations are required to attend. John Davies' operatic adaptation of this popular fable introduces children to the sounds and scenes of classic opera through a familiar story featuring music by W. A. Mozart, G. Donizetti and G. Rossini. The Billy Goats Gruff reinforces a powerful anti-bullying message and the importance of attending school regularly. The Billy Goats Gruff will be performed by Pensacola Opera's 2013 Artists in Residence who are young, professional opera singers. The approximate run-time is 35 minutes.
