Pensacola Symphony Orchestra New Year's Eve Celebration

When it comes to jazz horns, the sax and the trumpet usually reign supreme.  But in the right hands, the trombone more than holds its own, and Wycliffe Gordon is Exhibit A.  Wycliffe is a regular presence at the top festivals and jazz clubs around the world, having shared the stage with nearly every major jazz musician.  He brings an authentic mix of New Orleans style, blazing chops, and a larger-than-life personality, and I’m thrilled that he’ll be joining the Pensacola Symphony for a New Year’s Eve celebration that is sure to be memorable.

As usual, the concert will start at 7:00, when it’s still easy to get parking downtown.  We’ll be finished by 9:00, leaving plenty of time to settle in for the big pelican drop, or to beat the crowd home for an early bedtime. However you plan it, the Pensacola Symphony concert is a great way to welcome in the new year.
