Running of the Bulls Festival of San Fermin 2016

For the 6th year, Seville Quarter is recreating the “Running of the Bulls” in historic downtown Pensacola.  This annual event, made famous by author Earnest Hemingway, has participants chased by angry horned bulls. The Seville Quarter Encierro features the Pensacola Roller Gurlz as the “Bulls”.   As the first blast is at 10:00 a.m. the runners will take to the scenic course through beautiful downtown Pensacola.  At the second rocket the bulls will be released, wielding wiffle bats, to chase down the participants.  As is customary in Pamplona runners are requested to wear all white with red kerchiefs or sashes. Participants will enjoy music along the route as well as surprise appearances from the Bulls.  Beware!

There is no fee to simply Run with the Bulls. Those wanting a shirt, bandana and complimentary beer must register and pay a nominal fee.The 1st 200 paid participants will receive a commemorative Hornitos bandana. Paid participants registered prior to July 9 will get the 2016 Running of the Bulls t-shirt. All others will get shirts as supplies last.

Following the Running of the Bulls the festival will continue in and around the historic Seville Quarter Entertainment Complex. There will be Latin and Contemporary dance music; complimentary food beverages to paid participants and food and beverages for purchase for all others. Prizes will be awarded to the Best Group, Best Horns (roller derby bulls), Best Senor, Best Senorita, Most outlandish costume and the "Viva Pamplona" Group Spirit award. The first Male and Female to cross the Red Bull finish line (this is not a timed nor a scored event) will receive the "Red Bull Gives you Wings" award.

The Krewe of Andres de Pez will serve as escort to St. Fermin, the Patron Saint of Pamploma and act as marshalls along the route.
