The Spanish training ship for Naval Academy midshipmen, the Juan Sebastian de Elcano, will visit Pensacola as part of the annual Fiesta celebrations. The Juan Sebastian de Elcano, the third largest Tall Ship in the world, launched on March 5, 1927 and was delivered to the Spanish Navy on August 17, 1928. It is a four-masted topsail schooner standing at 113 meters. The Juan Sebastian de Elcano will be in the city from May 27 through June 1. Free tours of the naval ship are available to the public from 10 AM to 1 PM and 3-5 PM on Friday and Saturday, May 29-30, and from 3-5 PM on Sunday, May 31. The ship will depart Pensacola on Monday, June 1, at 4 PM.
