Fort Pickens Bookstore Closing for Renovations

Gulf Breeze, Fla. - Gulf Islands National Seashore officials announce the temporary closure of the Fort Pickens Bookstore for renovations.  The bookstore, which is located just inside the main entrance to the fort, is expected to be closed for two weeks starting Saturday, May 13, 2017. Visitor services will be located in the main entrance of the fort as well as at the Fort Pickens Museum.

The bookstores at the national seashore are operated through a cooperative agreement by Eastern National.  A portion of all sales go directly to supporting public programming throughout the seashore.  Eastern National also operates bookstores at the Fort Barrancas Visitor Center on board Naval Air Station Pensacola and William M. Colmer Visitor Center in the Davis Bayou Area near Ocean Springs, Mississippi.  The renovation is funded through Eastern National and park donations.
