Pediatric Surgeon Joins Sacred Heart Medical Group
PENSACOLA, Fla. – Pediatric surgeon Dr. Jonathan Papic has joined Sacred Heart Medical Group’s regional physician network. Dr. Papic will perform surgeries at The Studer Family Children’s Hospital at Sacred Heart. He joins the office of pediatric surgeons Dr. Bryan Weidner and Dr. Don Nakayama. Dr. Papic graduated with his bachelor’s and medical degrees from the University of Minnesota. He completed residency training in general surgery at Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis. Dr. Papic did a research fellowship at Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis, Indiana, and he received fellowship training in pediatric surgery at the University of Nebraska in Omaha.

Dr. Papic has been published in the Journal of Pediatric Surgery. He has presented at the American Academy of Pediatrics annual conference and at the American Pediatric Surgical Association meeting. His research interests include pediatric ovarian tumors, pectus excavatum and surgical management of gastroesophageal reflux disease.

As a pediatric surgeon, Dr. Papic provides surgical care for newborns, children and adolescents. Pediatric surgeons at The Children’s Hospital treat a wide range of conditions including congenital birth defects, hernias, head and neck masses, digestive issues, genitourinary issues, thoracic conditions, tumors and cancer.
