We decided a fun way to get people excited and talking about the event was to host this type of contest… and it worked."\n\nThere were three local/regional bands that people could choose from. Mill Town South\, Highway Home Bluegrass and TruGrass collectively had over 1100 votes.  TruGrass claimed the top spot with over 600 of those votes.\n\n"We were really excited to participate in the opening band contest and can't wait to play at the event. We are familiar with and appreciate the effort of the other bands and we feel all the bands were qualified.  We appreciate everyone who voted for us and helped us win\," states Milton Shryock\, Manager for TruGrass. \n\nTruGrass is a band of seasoned bluegrass musicians playing traditional and original bluegrass music. They have recently finished their first cd and have posted samp
