SUMMARY:First City Art Center Accepting Applications for 2014 Glassblowing Mentorship Program
DESCRIPTION:FCAC is now accepting applications for its 2014 Glassblowing Mentorship Program headed up by the First City Art Center Glass Guild.  The six-weeks/12 class program beginning March 6\, 2014 provides four area high school students the opportunity to learn the art of glassblowing free of charge.  All classes will be held at First City Art Center.  Students will learn the history of glassvblowing\, while getting a full hands-on experience of making various forms of artistic and functional glassware.  All Escambia and Santa Rosa County high school 9-11 grade students are elibible.  Applications are being accepted through February 14\, 2014.Selection Process:  Each interested student must complete the short application detailing his/her current interest in art and why there's an interest in pursuing this opportunity in glassblowing.  Each student application must also include a written recommendation by a high school teacher.  Students may also submit photos of recent art/craft works.  Selection is at the sole discretion of the FCAC Glass Guild instrutors.  The application and details are available at www.FirstCityArt.org.
