Pensacola Opera, photographer Daniel Ewert and the sweetest treats of Pensacola: Culture Club at the PMA, February 2 Our February artist is photographer Daniel Ewert (www.ewertnaturephotography.com) whose award-winning landscapes transport the viewer to faraway places both real and supernatural. Ewert's work has been nationally and internationally shown, including the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History, Washington D.C.; 2010 National Geographic Traveler Great Outdoors Photography Contest, First Place Category Winner of "Scenes of the Natural World;" 2009 & 2010 National Wildlife Federation Annual Photography Contest (Honorable Mention) and 2010 BBC Wildlife Photographer of the Year Competition (Finalist). Such impressive vistas can only be accompanied by epic music, and February's event will feature the Pensacola Opera's Artists in Residence singing favorite arias and musical theater selections that should be fine. Performers include: Jennifer Hendrickson, Soprano; Samantha Korbey, Mezzo- Soprano; Mitchell Hutchings, Baritone; Joe Shadday, Tenor and Dana Sadava, pianist. Soak it all in while savoring sweets from Adonna's Bakery, Oh, Snap! Cupcakes and End of the Line Café and other purveyors of all things delectable. February's Culture Club is being presented in collaboration with the United Way Emerging Leaders Society. The group will be on hand throughout the evening to answer questions about the work of the group and how to become a part of their mission. Raffle prizes include generous donations from Vinyl Music Hall, Macaroni Grill, Sluggo's, QVC, artist Daniel Ewert, Mary Kay, ToucanSave.com and more! Culture Club is a free, monthly social gathering for ages 21 and up featuring a one night ''mini-exhibition'' by an emerging, award-winning local visual artist.
