Coming October 5, Beating Hearts: Stories of Domestic Violence, a collection of photographs and text that reflect the individual experiences of victims of abuse, will be opening at the Pensacola Museum of Art. The stories were documented by Louisiana residents Kate Sartor Hilburn and Terrie Queen Autrey, both of whom have been active in domestic violence prevention and education on the Gulf Coast. The exhibition depicts stories from different women they have encountered through their work in domestic abuse prevention. The testimonies cover a variety of ages, genders, ethnic and economic backgrounds. The Pensacola Museum of Art is proud to host this exhibition and opening reception in conjunction with Pensacola's Favor House. The opening reception will be Friday, October 5 at 5:30 p.m. The opening reception will be held for museum members only. The Museum of Art is located at 407 South Jefferson Street Pensacola, FL 32503. Museum hours: Tues-Fri 10-5 Sat & Sun 12-5; closed Mondays.
