Description
BRACE [Be Ready Alliance Coordinating for Emergencies] in cooperation with Dean Jewel Cannada-Wynn at Escambia High School and the City of Pensacola, Play Pensacola Parks & Recreation and Bayview Park is pleased to offer a Teen CERT Camp to all interested high school students 14 to 18 years of age. The camp is FREE. Lunch, snacks, beverages and camp t-shirts will also be provided. Students will receive 19 hours of training in Disaster Preparedness, Fire Safety and Suppression, Search and Rescue, Medical Triage and Treatment, Disaster Psychology, Terrorism, and Team Organization. Students will learn how to create an emergency supply kit, form a family emergency plan, practice triage and treatment of disaster survivors, put out a small fire, and many other life saving techniques. Students will receive 19 hours of community service hours upon completion. BRACE, through the Teen CERT Program, desires to establish a culture of preparedness by empowering our youth to help us become the most disaster resilient community in America!
