Emergency Resources Offered

Dorian Zwierewicz, associate director of the Florida Small Business Development Center at the University of West Florida, said his organization has started working to facilitate resources for small businesses at no cost.

Staff are developing webinars for community leaders, economic development officials and business owners. They're also encouraging businesses to fill out a Business Damage Assessment Survey and helping them apply for the Florida Small Business Emergency Bridge Loan Program.

As of Tuesday afternoon, businesses with between two and 100 employees can apply through the loan program for short-term financing to "bridge" any financial gaps during a disaster. It's meant to be faster acting than the federal government's Economic Injury Disaster Loan from the Small Business Administration.
