New Traffic Safety Measures at Johnson Beach Begin April 23

GULF BREEZE, FL. –Gulf Islands National Seashore will begin initiating space available protocols at the Perdido Key Area/Johnson Beach beginning Friday, April 23.
Once the parking lot reaches full capacity, no new visitors traveling by vehicle will be admitted into the Perdido Key area/Johnson Beach. The road beyond the main parking lot at Perdido Key remains closed due to storm damage. Visitors can still access the road by walking or biking. Repairs and limited re-opening are expected for early summer of 2021.
Daily, new visitors will be permitted to enter the Johnson Beach area as space in the lot becomes available. Parking lot updates will be on the electronic message board at the park entrance. The current hours for Perdido Key Area/Johnson Beach are 5 a.m. to 8 p.m.
