Pensacola Habitat for Humanity’s Annual Gala Reached New Heights

PENSACOLA, Fla. – Pensacola Habitat for Humanity celebrated recent successes and laid the foundation for an exciting future while raising over $75K at its Second Annual Gala on Nov. 4 at the National Naval Aviation Museum.

Themed “Soaring to New Heights”, the evening was an enormous success as Pensacola Habitat continued to forge stronger partnerships and build momentum for the years to come in its mission to build homes, communities and hope in Escambia and Santa Rosa Counties.

“What an incredible night for our organization to share with our community stakeholders, partners and friends,” said Pensacola Habitat President and CEO Sam Young. “This was the perfect way to gather the area’s brightest and most passionate philanthropic individuals to launch a new era in the fight for affordable homeownership and to grow our Gala into one of the premier events in town.”

Nearly 275 guests enjoyed cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, silent and live auctions, live entertainment from a jazz band, as well as a delicious three-course meal and access to historical exhibits across the museum, which remains closed to the public. WEAR TV’s Tanner Stewart served as emcee for a unique program of speakers, which included Young, Pensacola Habitat Board of Directors Chairman Dr. Rev. Gene Franklin, Pensacola Mayor-Elect D.C. Reeves, Florida State Senator Doug Broxson, Florida Representative Michelle Salzman and Dominguez Design-Build President Shawn Dominguez.

“Every single person that spoke at or attended our Gala was there because they want to help their neighbors own their own affordable homes,” Young said. “We’re hoping that everyone had a wonderful evening, maybe won something from auctions and left the event thinking about how they can help to make the dream of home ownership a reality for our local families in need.”
