Podiatrist joins Ascension Medical Group Sacred Heart in Pensacola

 
Pensacola, Fla. (May 20, 2019) – Podiatrist Matthew Cummins, DPM, has joined Ascension Medical Group Sacred Heart’s regional network of doctors. Dr. Cummins will see patients in the DePaul building of the Ascension Sacred Heart Pensacola campus, located at 5147 N. Ninth Ave., Suite 103.

Dr. Cummins is a board-certified and fellowship-trained podiatrist. He graduated with his bachelor’s degree in health sciences and a certificate of leadership and development from Texas A&M University, and he received his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree from the Dr. William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine at Rosalind Franklin University in Chicago. He completed his podiatric medicine and surgery residency, as well as a fellowship in complex deformity correction and limb reconstruction, at AMITA Health Saint Joseph Hospital in Chicago. 
Dr. Cummins has a special interest in peripheral nerve surgery, orthoplastic limb preservation, deformity correction, limb arthroscopy, painful flatfoot and bunion correction. His research has been published in the International Journal of Orthoplastic Surgery, and he has presented at the Chicago Lower Extremity Surgical Symposium. Dr. Cummins is a member of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons, the American Podiatric Medical Association, the Association of Extremity Nerve Surgeons and the American Microsurgical Orthoplastic Society. Dr. Cummins participates in a medical mission at the Instituto Nacional de Pediatría (INP)-Mexico City  to provide hope for children with rare congenital conditions such as clubfoot.
