VITA Volunteers Needed for Tax Season

United Way of West Florida (UWWF) is seeking Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) volunteers to help with this coming tax season.

VITA volunteers assist residents of Escambia and Santa Rosa counties making low to moderate incomes, helping them file their taxes for free. Last year VITA volunteers saved residents of Escambia and Santa Rosa counties over $100,000 in tax preparation fees and helped secure $1,088,000 in tax refunds.

This service is provided 100% free through the work of volunteers. There are three ways to serve: as a Client Greeter, a Tax Preparer, or an MFT Tax Assistant. No previous experience is necessary, and all volunteers will all receive IRS certification and training.

Benefits of becoming a volunteer
• Learn a new skill that will serve you for a lifetime
• Receive IRS certification as a volunteer tax preparer
• Resume Builder
• Flexible volunteer hours
• Tax sites located in the community where needed
• Reward yourself by giving back to the community
