The beneficiary for this year's race is Clay Ray, a 13-year-old who lives in Gulf Breeze who has been battling leukemia for 6 years and is still in treatment. After three years of chemo and evaluation, doctors decided Clay needs a bone marrow transplant. The money raised from the Quentin Cooper Liver Life 5k will help his family with medical expenses during Clay's treatment.
Quentin Cooper was a student at Gulf Breeze High School and was diagnosed with liver cancer when he was a sophmore. Quentin lost his battle with cancer during his senior year in 2013 and this 5k is held in his memory each year to help a local family that is facing cancer.
