Description
Milton in May will be held on May 19th and 20th on South Willing Street. This festival salutes the citizens of Milton by featuring a car show, WaterFest, Bands on the Blackwater, and a delicious BBQ contest.
Throughout the weekend additional activities will be on tap such as the Blackwater Pyrates, who will perform boater safety checks at Carpenter’s Park and Russell Harber Landing, as well as the Blessing of the Fleet along the Blackwater River at 1 p.m.
Bands on Blackwater will take place both Friday and Saturday evenings, showcasing an eclectic lineup of local musical talent. Friday’s concert will feature the music of The Reunion Band at 7 p.m., while on Saturday at 5 p.m. The Bad JuJu band will take the stage on South Willing St.
The Barbecue on the Blackwater contest will be held on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. It is expected to become one of the most popular contests in the area. Backyard barbecuers will be competing in two divisions: pulled pork and pork ribs. The coveted People’s Choice award will be granted to the best of the best. Blackwater WaterFest will run from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. on Saturday featuring waterslides for children under 12 years old.
The Camp Fire Car Show will start loading at 8:30 a.m. Saturday morning and will bring out the biggest gearheads from across Northwest Florida. The Camp Fire car show will award the top three cars in seven different divisions. Those divisions are hot rod/rat rod, domestic antique (more than 25 years old), domestic modern (less than 25 years old), import antique, import modern, motorcycle, and people’s choice.
