Tosca will be sung in Italian with projected English supertitles. Puccini's masterful, melodrama is a thrilling tale of political intrigue and double-crossing. The tempestuous, opera diva, Tosca Floria must face-off against the corrupt Chief of Police, Baron Scarpia in order to save the life of her true love. Tosca's lover, Mario Cavaradossi, is being held and tortured by Scarpia for his political oppositions. Eventually, Tosca is forced to make the ultimate sacrifice - choose to yield to Scarpia's intense desire to have her all to himself, or watch her true love face execution? Will Tosca free herself and her lover, or will this test of deadly wills drive her straight to the edge? For additional information, please call 850-433-6737 or visit www.pensacolaopera.com.
