Description
In honor of Women's History Month, the Santa Rosa County Library System will offer a genealogy workshop entitled "Retying the Apron Strings: Connecting the Women in Your Family Tree" on Tuesday, March 26 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Milton Library located at 5541 Alabama Street. The program will feature a short presentation on general genealogy research and tips for locating records of female ancestors. Computers will be available for online research along with access to the library's genealogy materials collection. Research assistants will also be on hand to answer questions. Pre-registration is required and can be competed online at www.santarosa.fl.gov/libraries or at one of the county's five libraries. Participants are encouraged to start their genealogy journey before the workshop by picking up an information packet at a county library and filling out the ancestry/pedigree chart and family group records with as much information as they know or can discover. Family members and documents you may have at home such as a family Bible are great sources of information. On the night of the program, bring the filled-in charts and a thumb drive to save any document images you might find online.
