There is a reason that so many of the most popular classics were written by Russians; their music is filled with lyrical melodies, powerful orchestrations, and most of all, sheer passion. This concert features Yevgeny Kutik, a brilliant Russian violinist who has made a specialty of playing Prokofiev, including his ever-popular 2nd Concerto. A grand symphony by Tchaikovsky will make it abundantly clear why we can always count on Russian composers for an exciting concert.
