The artists of the Studios and Gallery at First City Art Center (FCAC) are proud to host the exhibition, "Artifacts", a celebration to promote 500 years of Florida's history – its people, places and cultural achievements – and this important milestone in American and Florida history. "Artifacts" features work from the resident artists of the FCAC Studios as well as the work of the FCAC Pottery and Glass Guilds. The exhibition will run from August 9th-September 28th, 2013. It will be held in the First City Art Center Studios and Gallery at 1060 N. Guillemard Street. An opening reception will take place on Friday, August 9th, 2013, from 5:00 - 7:00pm. This event is open to the public and is First City Art Center's contribution to the statewide Viva Florida 500 program. ''Artifacts is the first themed, center-wide show for the First City Art Center. The show displays artwork from the artists in our studios as well as from our pottery and glass guilds. We are excited to participate in this statewide celebration of the 500th anniversary of Florida's diverse history, in particular, through the arts.'' -Meredith Doyen, Executive Director, First City Art Center. The Gallery hours are Monday - Friday from 9:00am - 3:00pm and Saturdays from 9:00am - noon. There is no charge to visit the Gallery.
